We partner with property owners, managers, and developers to provide turnkey technology that enhances property value, resident satisfaction, and optimize operations.

Position Overview

STELLAR is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Network Operations Controller to support the performance, reliability, and day-to-day operations of our network infrastructure. This role is responsible for continuously monitoring network health, responding to incidents, and executing approved configurations and maintenance across routers, switches, firewalls, wireless systems, and servers. The ideal candidate has a strong operational mindset with experience in network support or systems administration, and a solid understanding of troubleshooting, incident management, and infrastructure best practices. They should be comfortable working within established procedures while effectively communicating with internal teams and stakeholders. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining service uptime, supporting customer deployments, and contributing to performance reporting, documentation, and ongoing network improvements.

Key Responsibilities

    • Continuously monitor the health and performance of network infrastructure — routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and servers — using established monitoring tools and dashboards.
    • Respond to network incidents and alerts, troubleshoot connectivity problems, identify root causes of outages or performance degradation, and implement solutions within approved procedures.
    • Manage network incidents from detection through resolution, including triage, documentation, and escalation to the Network Operations Engineer when issues exceed defined scope or authorization.
    • Monitor ticket queues and follow up on open incidents to ensure timely response and satisfactory resolution.
  • 2. Configuration and Maintenance
    • Perform day-to-day configuration and maintenance of network devices — routers, switches, firewalls, and access points — in accordance with standards and baselines established by the Network Operations Engineer.
    • Execute approved network changes, patches, and upgrades while minimizing service disruption and adhering to change management procedures.
    • Assist with pre-deployment configuration and testing of new MDU network builds prior to installation, working from engineering-provided designs and specifications.
    • Assist in the configuration, administration, and onboarding of new commercial and enterprise customers under engineering direction.
  • 3. Performance Monitoring and Reporting
    • Monitor network usage and performance trends, identify potential bottlenecks or congestion, and surface findings to the engineering team with supporting data.
    • Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and incidents.
    • Prepare reports on network performance, uptime, and incidents for management and stakeholders.
  • 4. Systems Administration Support
    • Assist in the change management and archiving of user accounts, file access, and system access across the Stellar Broadband network and datacenter.
    • Assist in the effective operation and maintenance of back-office Linux servers, including DNS, Apache, DHCP, and backup systems.
    • Assist in the effective operation and maintenance of back-office Microsoft infrastructure, including Office 365, Active Directory, and Exchange.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization.
